For the March Art Crawl and ensuing show at the WAG, alumnus Kendall Bennett exhibits work from his career in television design. As a production designer, Bennett holds a key creative role in the creation of a television series and works closely with director, cinematographers, costume designers, and producers to set visual tone and bring the environments around the characters to life.
Bennett’s passion for design and lighting began in high school and community theatre in Nashville. After earning a BFA from Watkins with a concentration in cinematography, Bennett relocated to Los Angeles and began his career mastering multiple art department roles studying under Emmy-nominated West Wing production designer Kenneth Hardy. Most recently, he served as the senior production designer on ABC and CMT’s Nashville.
