The film program at Watkins will hold a general casting call on campus for Spring 2020 student film projects on Saturday, February 22, 2020.
Directors of productions from the BFA and MFA film programs at Watkins will be looking for actors of all ages. Student films can be made under the SAG/AFTRA student film agreement and therefore all current union members are allowed to participate. Actors are asked to bring résumés and headshots for each audition (or a photo can be taken at the audition).
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script (with on-camera readings at the discretion of each director). Proposed shoot dates (usually over a three-day/Friday–Sunday period) for individual productions are posted. Audition slots will be divided according to gender and age and will be held throughout the day (10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) in the configuration below. Individual appointments are not available.
10 a.m. to Noon: Men, ages 18 and older
Noon to 2 p.m.: Women, ages 18 and older
2 p.m. to 3 p.m.: Young actors, ages 7-17 (a six-month to one-year baby is also needed)
Please note that no overall make-up audition sessions will be offered. However, actors who cannot attend Casting Day may contact specific directors concerning particular roles. If headshots and résumés are submitted electronically, please include a name in the file title.
All cast members will be invited to a screening of projects at the end of the semester and will have access to an online copy of the film and a digital file (without music) to cut into a reel. For any questions, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Free parking is available in the campus lot.
