Packing for campus

Knowing what to bring to your on-campus apartment can be challenging, which is why we want to offer you this handy checklist as well as some information below on what to expect. Your apartment will include:

A 9’ x 11’ bedroom — with bed and mattress (36″ x 80″) that can be raised to allow for extra storage underneath, a desk and chair, a dresser and closet space, blinds, a telephone hookup (with voicemail and local service), central air, and cable hookup.

  • Full kitchen — with stove, microwave, dishwasher, and full refrigerator with freezer, laundry/utility room, and kitchen table with four chairs.
  • Laundry room — with full-size washer and dryer.
  • Living room — with sofa, chair, TV stand, a telephone and cable hook-up.
  • Internet — all housing has wireless internet and all bedrooms and the living room have Ethernet jacks (Ethernet cables are not included).

Roommates

You will be provided with contact information for your roommates before coming to campus. It is suggested that you check with them on potentially shared items such as dishes and cookware to avoid duplication.

What not to bring

Residents in Watkins’s on-campus apartments are not permitted to bring the following: pets (other than fish), electric appliances with exposed coils, water beds, halogen lamps, and/or gas or charcoal grills.
