T. Stefan Bruce studied design at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. She has worked professionally on commercial and residential spaces for 28 years. When discovering the teaching career option at VCU, she then earned an MFA and plans to complete her PhD studies from University of Manitoba in Canada. Bruce's innovative studio processes have won teaching awards and produced engaging student projects. Bruce focuses on design as a living, dynamic process. Her philosophy emphasizes remaining open to daily shifts and rapid change, evolving design tools and a culturally expansive problem-solving process.
