Watkins Library is proud of our cooperative agreement with the Fisk University John Hope and Aurelia E. Franklin Library located less than ten minutes away from the Watkins campus. The Fisk Library houses over 200,000 books, various special collections documenting the African-American experience, and the Aaron Douglas Collection. Students are encouraged to utilize the great resources of the public library. Besides the great convenience of access to their vast collection of books, DVDs, and music, they offer the convenience of delivery to their Looby Branch located across Rosa Parks from Watkins. If you live on campus, you can obtain a public library card by presenting a personal ID, such as your driver’s license, passport, or learner’s permit, proof of home address, and proof of your current address on campus: your checkbook, piece of mail postmarked in the last two weeks, utility bill, or pay stub issued in the last two weeks.
A service of the Nashville Area Library Alliance, the ATHENA catalog is an Interlibrary Loan service that gives you access to the collections of local college and public libraries from Aquinas and Belmont to Vanderbilt and Volunteer State.
WorldCat is the world’s largest network of library content and services. WorldCat libraries are dedicated to providing access to their resources on the Web, where most people start their search for information. WorldCat.org lets you search the collections of libraries in your community and thousands more around the world. Once you find an item, use the Interlibrary Loan form to request the item through the Library at Watkins
ILL request form. A librarian will request the book for you and notify you by email when it arrives. Make sure you plan ahead. An Interlibrary Loan will take 1 to 2 weeks to arrive.
