Scholarship Information
Watkins offers numerous scholarships to incoming students based on faculty recommendations after reviewing completed applications for admission and portfolio submissions. These range from the Commissioners’ Scholarship, which awards full-tuition for four years to one applicant each year, to smaller, individual recognition of excellence in scholarship and/or portfolio work. Usually only one scholarship is awarded to a student, but occasionally an unusually exceptional applicant may be offered a combination of scholarships.

In addition, Watkins is a sponsor of numerous high school art competions and film festivals, awarding scholarhips to the top placing young artists.  Some of these include:

* TN Regional Scholastic Awards
* Kentucky AEA All-State Art Competion
* Ohio Governor's Youth Art Exhibition
* Alabama Regional Scholarstic Gold Key Award
* East, Middle and West Tennessee Student Art Exhibitions
* Atlanta High School Art Exhibition
* Young Filmmakers of the Nasvhille Film Festival
* Arkasas based T Tauri Filmmakers Competition.

We are always adding new ways to encourage young artists, designers and filmmakers so check the Scholarship Brochure for an up-to-date listing.

Watkins is eligible to receive the Tennessee Education Lottery monies. Additionally, through our institutional scholarship program, we match any out-of-state educational lottery award up to $4,000 per year.

Watkins also continues to reward talent and scholastic achievement in our continuing students with merit awards during their studies at the college. Departmental merit awards and the Presidential Award for Scholastic Excellence are given out to many students every year.
