Tuition, Financial Aid & Scholarships
Financial Aid at Watkins
Watkins College of Art, Design & Film offers financial assistance from various programs comprised of federal, state, and institutional funds. Students interested in applying for financial assistance are required to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), list our school code 031276, be admitted as a degree-seeking student at the College, complete the Institutional Application for Financial Aid (admitted students only are provided the institutional application) and meet all eligibility requirements to participate in the student financial assistance program. The FAFSA can be completed, electronically, at www.fafsa.ed.gov. This process will enable you to get your results, the Student Aid Report, 14 to 20 days quicker than if you mailed the paper FAFSA application.

Federal Programs
Federal assistance includes:
- Federal Pell Grant (Pell)
- Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG)
- Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG)
- Federal Subsidized/Unsubsidized Loans(SUB/UNSUB)
- Federal Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students(PLUS)
- Federal Work Study (FWS)
Other aid programs consist of the Private Loan program, Veteran Educational Benefits and Vocational Rehabilitation Benefits.
State Programs
Watkins receives funding from various State programs for eligible students attending Watkins. The Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation (TSAC) offers various grants and scholarships for eligible Tennessee residents. Students completing the FAFSA and list Tennessee as their legal state of resident will have their information automatically sent to TSAC for consideration of the programs listed below.
Tennessee Student Assistance Awards (TSAA)
Grants awarded to eligible Tennessee residents.
Tennessee Education Lottery Scholarship (TELS)
Scholarships funded through the State’s lottery are awarded to eligible Tennessee students in the following categories:
- Tennessee HOPE Scholarship
- General Assembly Merit Scholarship
- Aspire Award
- HOPE Access Grant
- HOPE Scholarship for Non-Traditional Students
- Dual Enrollment Grant
- HOPE Foster Child Tuition Grant
State Scholarships
TSAC offers several types of need based and merit based scholarships.
These include:
- Ned McWherter Scholars Program
- Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship Program
- Dependent Children Scholarship Program
- Christa McAuliffe Scholarship Program
- Gear-Up Tennessee Bridge Award

Institutional financial assistance is available for eligible students attending Watkins from the following programs:

- Watkins Institutional Work-Study program

Payment Plans
