What to Expect After Applying

Notification of Admission

Once a completed application is received by the Admissions Office it is sent to the faculty of the program to which you are applying for review. The faculty decides if the applicant is a good fit for the program and also makes scholarship recommendations. The applicant is usually notified of their decision within 2-3 weeks. The Admissions Office will not reveal decision status over the phone.

Notification of Transfer Credits

You will receive a letter notifying you of the number of credits that have been accepted for transfer. However, please note that not all of these credits may apply to your new program. Your status and placement in the program will be reviewed by your advisor during registration.

Notification of Scholarships / Financial Aid

Scholarships are awarded to applicants based on merit and/or prior scholastic achievement. You will be notified of any award in your acceptance letter from the Director of Admissions. This award will be added to any financial aid (grants and loans) for which you have qualified. After you have been accepted and have completed the necessary forms to apply for financial aid, your award, including any scholarships will be processed by our financial aid department. You will be notified in writing of your total financial aid, asked to sign and return a copy of the award. You must sign and return this copy to accept your award. Please click “here” to go to the Financial Aid pages to review procedures for applying for financial aid, information on what aid is available to student and their families and other pertinent links and information.

Notification of Housing

If you have applied for housing (download a copy of the Housing Application here}, you will receive a contract from the Department of Student Services. You must return the contract with a deposit of $300.00 to insure your housing reservation. This deposit is held against damage to the apartment and will be returned to you at the end of your stay in student housing if no damage is assessed. You will also receive a survey asking some basic questions about your habits and preferences. This will be used to match you up with the most compatible apartment mates. It should be returned with the signed contract.
