Orientation Information
Orientation
Orientation is a fun and informative event that will introduce new students to the programs, procedures and the services available academically as well as student life at Watkins. Incoming and transfer students are required to attend all aspects of orientation.
If you absolutely cannot attend for some reason, you must contact the Director of Student Life as soon as possible. At Orientation you will receive very important information about academic policies and you will meet as a group with the faculty of the program you are entering. Also, there are parent information and financial aid sessions. Most importantly, you will receive an appointment to meet with your advisor to prepare for registration. You must meet with you advisor before you will be allowed to register.
Fall 2013 orientation is scheduled for 17-21 August, with residential students moving in on 17 August. These dates aresubject to change. Deposited students will receive regular orientation updates via snail mail and email.

Registration
Your individual advising appointment will be listed on your folder sticker - when you check in on campus. Once you meet with your advisor and work out your schedule you will register for your first semester’s classes. After registration you will go to the Financial Aid office where they will make sure all of your aid and/or scholarships have been applied correctly. You will then go to the Business Office. You must either pay your tuition and fees at this time or you must make arrangements with the Business Office for one of several tuition payment plans. If you do not pay or make arrangements for payment of your tuition at this time, your registration will be cancelled at the end of the day. For more information on payment plans or any other billing question, please contact the Business Manager at [email protected]. We are here to help you through this process as quickly and as easily as possible.
On Campus Housing Move-in
All incoming students who will be living on campus are required to move in on the stated move-in date. Student Services, including orientation leaders and other student volunteers will be on hand to guide you through the process and help carry your belongings to your new apartment. Any housing questions can be directed to the Housing Operations Manager at [email protected].
