BFA Exhibitions: Edwards, Davis & Row

Watkins College of Art, Design & Film presents Fine Art Thesis Exhibitions 2012, a two-part series of work by five graduating students in the Fine Art Department. First up is a double show offering by Bachelor of Fine Art degree candidates Amy F. Edwards and by Emily Davis and Mollie Row, on view Nov. 15-25 in the Brownlee O. Currey, Jr. Gallery on campus.

Edwards presents the mixed media show “The Human Element,” using paintings, toys dipped in plaster, sculpey, tin foil and enamel in work examining the mythology of human and animal influences relating to shapes and forms.

Davis and Row collaborated on installations for the exhibition “UNASSIGN: Personal Works and Collaboration in Unfolding Identity.” Through the process of mold making, life casting, and the replication of images, the artists weigh multiple facets of identity and explore the qualities of physical and conceptual existence

The exhibitions and reception are free and the public is invited.

Regular Currey Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.  (Watkins will be closed Nov. 21-22 for the Thanksgiving holiday.) Admission is free.
