Watkins Welcomes Three Visiting Faculty for 2012-13

 

Watkins College of Art, Design & Film has made three faculty appointments for the 2012-2013 academic year, it was announced by Joy McKenzie, interim dean.

Joining as Visiting Faculty are Will Tucker, in the Department of Fine Art; Adán De La Garza, in the Department of Photography; and Sam Dalton, in the Film School.

 

Will Tucker (left) will lead classes in 3-D design, 4-D design and a senior seminar.  

He holds an MFA in sculpture from Ohio State University and a BFA in sculpture from the University of Kentucky, and has exhibited extensively in Louisville, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Philadelphia and San Francisco.

 

 

 

Adán De La Garza (right) is teaching black-&-white photography, lighting and an advanced photography seminar.  

He graduated with an MFA in Interdisciplinary Media Arts Practices from the University of Colorado at Boulder and has a BFA in Photography from the University of Arizona.  He has participated in exhibitions at the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, The New School (New York), and the Tucson Museum of Contemporary Art.

 

Sam Dalton, who has been an adjunct instructor in the Film School since 2008, will teach production fundamentals; a directing workshop; and film production two.

An accomplished actor and long-time member of SAG-AFTRA and Actors Equity Association, Dalton – who majored in communication/broadcast management at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville – also has extensive experience as a writer, director, producer, production company executive, and television and print journalist.  Among his accolades for writing and producing are a Rocky Mountain Regional Emmy, two national Telly awards, and a Parent’s Choice award.
