Untrademarked Productions, a Nashville-based production company comprised of Watkins graduates Jennifer Bonior, Julian Herrera, Doug Mallette and Jeremy Pearce, will hold a free screening of their first feature film, Worm, on Saturday, October 26, beginning at 6 pm in the Watkins Theater.
Shot locally on a shoestring, crowd-funded budget, Worm involved former and present Watkins students in cast and crew, including Rob Bennett, Dallas Birchfield, Donnie Bittinger, Alison Cook, David Cypress, John Ferguson, Dave Fritts, Spenser Fritz, Keith Holt, Anthony Jastrow, Hunter Jones, Tim Krau, Allen Laseter, Andrew Little, Shane O’Brien, Spencer Rabon, Jonathan Rogers, Jayson Wall, and Brooke Wood-Herrera.
Written by the Untrademarked team, Worm (93 min.) was produced by Bonior and Pearce; Mallette directed, with visual effect by Herrera.
Synopsis: In a future where we have lost the ability to dream, people have turned to Fantasites, a parasite that induces our wildest fantasies. When socially awkward Charles starts using the miracle product he finally meets the girl of his “dreams.” However, Fantasites come with disturbing side effects and Charles soon finds himself struggling to keep the life he’s dreamed about from squirming away.
