Watkins Shines at Nashville Film Festival

 

The Tennessee Spirit Awards were presented last night at the 2011 Nashville Film Festival.  The following winning films were both created by alumni from the Watkins Film School.

 

Winner of Tennessee Spirit Award for Documentary:

Nashville Rises (Alumnus Zac Adams, USA, 28 minutes).

On May 1st and 2nd, 2010, the citizens of Nashville, TN experienced what is now called the 1000 year flood. This is the story about the power of the human spirit, and how neighbor helped neighbor to overcome this tragedy.

 

Winner of Tennessee Spirit Award for Narrative: 

Swing (Alumni Matt Schosser & Shane Bartlett, USA, 7 minutes).

An eight-year-old boy named Elliott is struggling with the death of one of his classmates. After a fight on the playground, he confides his feelings to one of his friends.
