Watkins Graphic Design Stars Rock the Student ADDYs
Watkins Graphic Design students won more top awards than any other school competing in the 2012 Nashville Student ADDYs! More than 400 people filled Play Dance Bar on February 28 to celebrate the most creative advertising students in Nashville at the annual competition, presented by the local chapter of the American Advertising Federation, and saw our Graphic Design talents claim nine Golds (two more than last year) and two (of the four) Judges’ Choice Awards.
Seventy percent of the Watkins students who entered received awards, and 17 pieces, including eight Silver award winners, will advance to the district competition.
Sara Strese tied for the most Addys awarded to a single student (one Gold, one Juror’s Choice, and three Silvers), and Johnny Whitman and Anna Stout tied for the most Gold Addys, with two each. Other double Watkins winners were Stephen Jones (Gold and Juror’s Choice), Janey Nachampasak (two Silver), and Mark Fentriss and Xavier Payne (a Gold and a Judges’ award each, in collaboration with Strese).
