Students Reflect on 'Home, Sweet Home' With April 20 Art Show

Cadillac Tramp Designs Presents Student Work at Alternative Gallery Little Hamilton

Cadillac Tramp Designs presents Home Sweet Home, an art show by students at Watkins College of Art, Design & Film, on Friday, April 20, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Little Hamilton Collective. Admission is free and open to the public, and pricing of individual artist’s works is affordable.

Staged to serve as a platform from art school environment into Nashville’s art scene of patrons, collectors and critics, Home Sweet Home’s exhibiting artists include over a dozen Photography, Fine Arts, and Graphic Design majors studying at Watkins. Through the Little Hamilton alternative gallery space, a transition between viewers within the school and viewers belonging to a larger audience in Nashville is made.

The Home Sweet Home theme springs from the idea of a cozy household, and grows into the concept of environment, culture, upbringing, and how that affects each and every person. The works persuade viewers to take introspective glances at their own roots and their own ‘home, sweet home.’ This thesis is represented in forms of installation, photographs, experimental videos, multimedia work, drawings and paintings. Viewers will be encouraged to interact with the works and discuss the ideas presented with each other while enjoying refreshments and music.

The Little Hamilton Collective is located at 1318 Little Hamilton Street, Nashville, TN 37203 (off of Nolensville Pike, near the intersection of Chestnut Street and 4th Avenue South).
