Richard Cook Show of 'Art History, a Guitar and a Duck' Runs June 1-30

 

 
Work by Richard Cook, an instructor in Watkins Community Education department, is the subject of a show on view at Hot and Cold in Hillsboro Village.
 
“The Art of Richard Cook” runs June 1 through 30 at the dessert-and-coffee house, located at 1804 21st Avenue South (next to Fido).
 
An award-winning print designer, web designer, illustrator and artist, Cook explores styles of art history from romanticism to cubism to abstract expressionism and pop art in one painting that is divided into 12 small single images. Other works in the show include a guitar, a duck and a few Cook signature styled paintings.

Richard Cook
Born in Nashville to a creative family, Richard was surrounded by a diversified collection of art which lead to his eclectic style and vivid imagination. Richard has worked as an illustrator, designer, art director and creative director. He has worked in several mediums over the years as a commercial artist and a fine artist. Through commercial work he has enjoyed changing with graphic design production, from paste-up to Macintosh based applications. His commercial works have exposed him to most forms of printing processes. He has designed environmental graphics, POPs, compact disk packaging, DVD packaging, journals, books, greeting cards, marketing materials and corporate identities. Richard talents have been noticed by the creative community with national awards from the ADDYs and the Printers Association of America.
