The pARTy Spotlights Artists-in-the-Round April 28

Watkins College of Art, Design & Film will welcome many of Nashville’s premier visual artists and designers to its campus for The pARTy 2012:  Watkins on the Water on Saturday, April 28.

The evening boasts an Artists-in-the-Round dinner, gathering artists and art lovers around the table to “celebrate the creative” in Watkins and the Nashville community. A pARTy highlight will be the art-focused silent auction, featuring unique works of paintings, furniture, sculpture, jewelry, photography, couture accessories and more.

Among the artists participating in the event are Vicki Bartholomew, Elizabeth Brandon, Cindy Earl, London-based couturier Caroline Eavis, Kelley Gaidos Estes, Anne Goetze, Brooke Porter, Monte Richards, Doug Regen, Tom Turnbull and Jammie Williams, with more to be added.
The pARTy gets started at 6 p.m. with a cocktail reception on the boardwalk, followed by the Artists-in-the-Round dinner in the lakeside tent.

Julie Lee – a powerhouse vocalist, a songwriter with country, Americana and contemporary folk hits, and a visual artist in her own right will bring her “collage” style to the pARTy stage as the evening’s entertainment. In her performances, songwriting and visual art, Lee takes bits and pieces from each of her myriad influences to make something that is both old and new, a unique scrapbook of various American styles.  The full-band performance will include selections from her just-released project, Julie Lee & The Baby-Daddies.

Event chairs are Carol Daniels, Deborah Lovett, and Steve Sirls. Noted painter and collector Walter Knestrick, a longtime Watkins Commissioner, is Honorary Auction Chair.

Patron tickets are $300 each; individual tickets are $175. For more information or to request an invitation, contact Evon Wood at 615-277-7402, ewood@watkins.edu or visit watkins.edu/party.
