Graphic Design Grabs the Gold at Student Addys
12 Gold + 9 Silver + 1 Judge’s Favorite = WOW!
The Department of Graphic Design had a dazzling showing at the 2013 AAF-Nashville Student Addy Awards on February 26, with Watkins talent winning more GOLD awards than any other school competing — just as they did last year! Held at Play Dance Bar and presented by the local chapter (District 7) of the American Advertising Federation, the annual competition celebrating the most creative advertising students in Nashville saw our Graphic Design stars claim 12 Golds (four more than last year), 9 Silvers and a Judge’s Choice Award.
Adam Jeremy Agee (‘12) led the Watkins delegation with five Addys, and Sara Strese (‘12) collected three. Double Watkins winners were Janey Nachampasak (‘12), Tiffany Poulose (‘12), senior Johnny Whitman and sophomore Holly Carden. Tyler Zenk (who designed the event creative and collateral, pictured at left) supplemented his Gold with a judge’s special selection. Overall, 21 of Watkins 35 entries were recognized.
