Sculpture/Time Based Media

 

Full-time teaching position beginning August 2008

 

Summary

Watkins College of Art and Design is seeking a dedicated teacher/studio artist who possess demonstrated skills in a wide range of sculptural and time based media including: wood and metal fabrication, foundry, mold-making, and casting with traditional and synthetic materials, installation, performance, and video/sound production. The position will require teaching 3 courses per semester possibly including: 3-D Design, 4-D Design, Sculpture I – IV, Time Based Media I & II, and Advanced Seminar. The candidate must exhibit an informed and articulate knowledge of contemporary practices, theory, and criticism. The department requires someone who is prepared for demanding students with a variety of experiences and backgrounds. Committee responsibilities germane to the sculpture area are required. Watkins is a small, intimate college where an enthusiastic, generous, and positive attitude is a must. The starting date is August 2008, salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Position

Full-time teaching position in the area of Sculpture/Time Based Media with rank determined by experience and qualifications. After a period of probationary appointment, faculty members are eligible for appointment to continuing two-year contracts. Watkins College is an equal opportunity employer/educator.
