'Co. H Council' Stages Student Summer Show

 

Multi-media work from Watkins’ collective on view in Currey Gallery through July 26 

 

Watkins College of Art, Design & Film presents the 2012 student summer show “Co. H Council,” featuring outstanding work in painting, video, photography and sculpture, from June 4 through July 26 in the Brownlee O. Currey, Jr. Gallery on campus.

The exhibition is free and open to the public.

Participants in the exhibition are Kellie Bornhoft, Ann Catherine Carter, Jessica Clay, Robert Grand, David King, and Moses Williams, all rising seniors and council members of Co. H, a collective of artists from various disciplines in the visual arts providing exhibition, collaborative and development opportunities for both students and professionals. Founded at Watkins in February 2011 by Fine Art majors Bornhoft and Williams, Co. H has hosted local artists and professionals lectures, held studio critiques and collaborated on multi-disciplinary performances within the community, and its members have traveled together on art-centered trips to New York and Chicago.

Currey Gallery’s summer hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.
