Co. H 'Council' Celebrates Gallery Run with July 20 Reception

Council, a multi-media exhibition from Watkins College of Art, Design & Film’s student-led collective Co. H, will celebrate its summer run with a reception on Friday, July 20, from 6 to 9 p.m. Featuring outstanding work in painting, video, photography and sculpture from six Co. H members, the show continues through July 26 in the Brownlee O. Currey, Jr. Gallery on campus.

The reception and exhibition are free and open to the public.

Participants in Council are Kellie Bornhoft, Ann Catherine Carter, Jessica Clay, Robert Grand, David King, and Moses Williams, all rising seniors at Watkins and council members of Co. H, a collective of artists from various disciplines in the visual arts that provides exhibition, collaborative and development opportunities for both students and professionals. Founded at Watkins in February 2011 by Fine Arts majors Bornhoft and Williams, Co. H has hosted lectures by local artists and visual arts professionals, held studio critiques and contributed to multi-disciplinary performances throughout the community (including Emergence at Nashville Ballet this past May), and its members have traveled together on art-centered trips to New York and Chicago.
