Watkins work to be screened at Cannes Film Festival

Watkins Alumnus Wins Top Prize at Nashville Film Festival

This weekend, it was announced that Make Out With Violence, a feature film co-written, co-directed, and co-produced by Watkins Film School alumnus Chris Doyle, (2003/Directing), has swept three of the top awards at the 2009 Nashville Film Festival. The award prize includes a theatrical run in Los Angeles, which makes the film eligible for an Academy Award. …more

Opening Reception, Senior Thesis Exhibition Part III, featuring Camille Jackson and Ellie Odom (off campus)

Watkins College of Art, Design & Film is pleased to invite the public to the opening reception for the third BFA Senior Thesis Exhibition of the season. This exhibition will feature Camille Jackson and Ellie Odom. Both shows will open Friday, April 17 at off-campus galleries. Jackson’s opening reception will take place from 4-6pm at Twist Gallery in the Arcade (located at 244 5th Ave N in Downtown Nashville) and Odom’s opening will take place from 6-9pm later that evening at 214 3rd Ave North in Nashville. …more

Student Yart Festival Set for Saturday, April 4

The Spring YART Festival will be held Saturday, April 4 from 10am-4pm at the College. Stop by for food, live music, games and most importantly, great prices on artwork from up and coming student artists, photographers and designers. Proceeds benefit the student artists and student life activities at the College. Also at the event, donations will be taken for Soles 4 Souls, an international charity dedicated to providing free footwear for those in need. Opening Reception, Senior Thesis Exhibition Part I of III, featuring Angela Elkins and Nick Stolle

Watkins College of Art, Design and Film invites the public to the first of three Bachelor of Fine Arts Senior Thesis exhibitions for the Spring semester. This exhibition will feature seniors Nick Stolle and Angela Elkins and will open Friday, March 27, from 6-8pm in the Brownlee O. Currey, Jr. Gallery on campus. Future exhibitions will feature the works of Camille Jackson and Justin Patterson, opening on April 10. Erin Plew and Myrna Talbot will close out this series with an exhibition opening April 24. All receptions and exhibitions are free and open to the public. …more
