Watkins Library is proud of our cooperative agreement with the Fisk University Library located less than ten minutes away from the Watkins campus. The Fisk Library houses over 200,000 books, various special collections documenting the African-American experience, and the Aaron Douglas Collection. Parking is free; Just present your Watkins ID at the Fisk Library's checkout counter for registration.
Students are encouraged to utilize the great resources of the public library. Besides the great convenience of access to their vast collection of books, DVDs, and music, they offer the convenience of delivery to their Looby Branch located across Rosa Parks from Watkins.
With a public library card patrons can access PROJECT ATHENA through the Nashville Public Library website. This is an Interlibrary Loan service that gives you access to the collections of Vanderbilt, Belmont, and other local college and public libraries.
If you live on campus, you can obtain a public library card by presenting a personal ID, such as your driver's license, passport, or learner's permit, proof of home address, and proof of your current address on campus: your checkbook, piece of mail postmarked in the last two weeks, utility bill, or pay stub issued in the last two weeks.
