Iwonka Waskowski

Biography
Iwonka Waskowski is a native of Chicago, Illinois where she began her undergraduate studies at Loyola University of Chicago. Her education at Loyola focused on psychology, with an interest in fine arts. A career in visual merchandising with Crate & Barrel began in Chicago and led her to New York. Inspired by the creative environment of New York and her career in visual merchandising, Iwonka decided it was time to complete her studies and focus on a Fine Art degree, which she received from Watkins in 2005.  Watkins became the foundation for meeting members of the artistic community and allowed Iwonka to get involved in art groups such as Untitled Artist Group, the Fugitive Art Center, the Secret Show Series and Off the Wall.  Involvement with such art groups has given Iwonka experience in working with emerging and professional artists to create an environment in which to show contemporary work in Nashville, Tennessee. Iwonka continues to be an active member of the artistic community in Nashville, showing at local galleries with her art group.  Iwonka is currently working for Watkins College of Art, Design & Film as the Career Services Coordinator. Iwonka works with the visual arts community to foster and facilitate job, internship, and volunteer opportunities for the students and alumni of Watkins.
