Gillian Mosvold
- Artist's Statement
- Currently I am exploring the history of responses and how people create their own individual response patterns. These patterns, with their unique history and memories, continue to morph and take permanent shape through one’s own psychological development. There are many ways we learn to respond based on our interpersonal dynamics that have years of imbedded behavior.A few behaviors I am examining through my work now are: mimicking, the response to the familiar, past similar situations, and years of unconscious reactions to forgotten memories, among others. My interest in the effect of humiliation and fear continues, how they are processed, mechanisms that set them in motion, keep them going, as well as the effects they have on an individual and their relationships.
