Drafting labs provide the basis for classes beginning early in the program with Architectural Drawing I, which teaches board-drafting skills. The two drafting labs are equipped with drafting stations complete with parallel bars, adjustable drafting stools, and areas for critique. The labs accommodate fifteen students per classroom.
The CAD Lab includes fifteen student work
stations and one instructor station. The newest release from
AutoDesk's AutoCAD is the software currently used for instruction
in CAD I and II. In addition, students are introduced to 3-D
modeling software, which are provided on each workstation.
Auxillary equipment such as scanners, printers (for smaller documents),
plotters (for large documents) and projection equipment complete
the support for student projects and instruction.
Students are able to blue line their drafted work on site rather than having to travel to another location for printing due to blueprint equipment provided on site.
The Resource Room located within the Interior Design department provides samples for the student projects varying from current carpet samples to high-end textiles.
