| FINE
ARTS STUDENTS
An artist’s work
is unique and individual. It is inspired by a personal vision, fueled
by environment and developed through training and experience. An
artist’s success depends on more than personal desire. It
depends on hard work and a total education of one’s craft.
The creative students enrolled in the Fine Arts program at Watkins
College of Art&Design find themselves challenged and encouraged.
We employ a diverse faculty of practicing professionals who are
accomplished artists as well as teachers and mentors to students.
As practicing artists, these large and exceptional groups of teachers
offer students the opportunity to learn from different perspectives
and styles.
The Department of Fine
Arts has many links with the community, and students are encouraged
to take part in community activities and projects where this is
deemed to be educationally desirable. Students are also encouraged
to participate in exhibitions or, where appropriate, undertake commissions.
