Watkins College of Art, Design, & Film is seeking an adjunct for the Film School for the Fall Semester 2017. Professional and Teaching experience is required; MFA degree preferred.

Special Topics: The History of the Musical

Lecture, 3 Contact Hours, 3 Credit Hours

The history of the American Musical begins in 1927 with Warner Brothers’ The Jazz Singer, also the first talking picture.  We will move from Hollywood-style grand productions to rock and roll fueled, independent cinema, adding in an occasional iconic foreign film such as Richard Lester’s A Hard Day’s Night or Jacques Demy’s The Umbrellas of Cherbourg.
